Bring the children to the Stamford Library Summer Reading Camp
on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 10:30-11:30 a.m. for a HANDS-ON workshop about WORM BIN COMPOSTING!
Helen Fields, Master Composter, will help us investigate the science,
the art, and the FUN of having your own WORM BIN to compost
all of your kitchen food scraps! Sing the red wiggler song and dance the
red wiggler dance! Draw pictures of the worms and learn their names!
AND it is NOT SMELLY!
AND you DON’T have to touch the worms IF YOU DON’T WANT TO!
(but you can if you do).
Parents and other adults are welcome.
Come learn about how we can reduce our garbage bill and make
the best compost in the world: BLACK GOLD RED WIGGLER COMPOST!!!!

Stamford Town Library Summer Hours are
Tuesday – 4-8 pm
Wednesday – 9 am to 1 pm
Thursday – 4-8 pm
Friday – 9 am to 4 pm
Saturday – 9 am to 1 pm
Stamford Seed Savers will be meeting Tuesday evening at the library – meeting starts at 5:30pm.

Going Zero Waste with Amy Johns
Please join us May 11 at 6:30 p.m. for a library program and a community event that could have positive impacts on all of us and our town.
Amy Johns, Stamford resident and Director of the Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives at Williams College, will talk about ways to achieve a waste-free lifestyle.
Amy, who teaches courses on renewable energy and sustainability at Williams, will discuss the concept of Zero Waste living and outline strategies aimed at reducing waste and pollution in our lives and becoming better stewards of our environment.
The hour-long program will include time for discussion and light refreshments.
